The national game started at malappuram by early 1990’s with two three school.Entry of hockey to the district which is commonly known the Mecca of football was quite difficult introduce.How ever people who loves all sports received the game with two hands and smiling faces.The golden Era of malappuram hockey started by 2001 and its continued magnificently.District have been contributing an average 15 to 20 players to the every year and they are playing an inevitable role in the state hockey.
